Bloomberg: Hulu coming to PlayStation network ’soon’

It was just two weeks ago in the runup to E3 that Reuters spread rumors of Hulu coming to the Xbox 360 and the iPad as some sort of paid service, and now Bloomberg is adding to the chatter, saying that everyone’s favorite video service is also in talks to become part of Sony’s Playstation Network and appear on the PS3 “soon.” As with the previous rumors, Hulu on PS3 is said to be a paid service, but nothing’s actually confirmed yet. So is Hulu playing Microsoft, Sony and Apple against each other in a bid to collect the biggest exclusivity fee possible, or are we about to see an aggressive Netflix-style multiplatform rollout? We’ll see.

Canon Rebel T2i rumored for next week

It’s all rumor for now, but Canon Rumors has word from a trusted source that a new Rebel is coming next week known as the T2i. According to its source, we can expect a new, higher resolution LCD, selectable FPS video, new LP-E8 battery and grip in the followup to the Rebel T1i. It also brings a new Rebel shape and build quality but lacks an articulating screen. And in case you’re wondering, the uptick in camera news is related to the runup to the big PMA 2010 photog show kicking off on February 19th — so get used to it.

Verizon’s HTC Droid Eris to run Android 1.5 on a 528MHz CPU

We can certainly understand why Verizon wants to brand all of its Android devices under the “Droid” label, but at this point we can’t say we understand why it’s launching the HTC Droid Eris alongside the Motorola Droid at all — BGR says it’s going to run Android 1.5 on a 528MHz Qualcomm CPU, which means it’ll be instantly obsoleted by Android 2.0 on the Moto’s OMAP3 at launch. What’s more, it sure seems like Verizon knows it’s mismanaging this situation, as we haven’t heard a single peep about the Eris in the runup to the Droid launch tomorrow, even though Eric Schmidt and Lowell McAdam were waving both devices around a few weeks ago. We’ll see how this all plays out — HTC certainly has Android 2.0 phones of its own in the works, so the Eris might not be long for this world.
